New Foreign Trade Policy to be Announced in August
Jun. 15 – The Indian government is set to release a new comprehensive foreign trade policy in August with an emphasis on trade stimulus in addition to giving sops to exporters.
Moreover, the Commerce and Industry Ministry is considering rules that will directly increase exports. Officials are also discussing ways to improve foreign trade with Latin America and African countries.
Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma told The Economic Times on Sunday that by September this year there would be visible increase in export after the various proposes incentives are given to exports.
Mr. Sharma added that he would soon gather industry ministers of all the states to discuss issues facing the industrial sector and to encourage export and foreign trade.
