Foreign Investors Begin First Trading Week in Positive Note
Jan. 12 – Foreign investors began the first week of stock market trading for the year on a positive note with US$ 816.69 million worth of investments.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India reported that foreign institutional investors (FIIs) became gross buyers of shares amounting to US$ 3.03 billion while also selling equities worth US$2.2 billion leading to a net investment of US$823.74 million.
FIIs were also net investors of US$ 973.22 million in debt instruments in the first trading week of the year.
