Navi Mumbai SEZ Petitions for Relaxed Investment Norms
Sept. 21 – The Navi Mumbai special economic zone (SEZ) is requesting that the government ease contiguous requirements for the zone to be able to issue approval letters to interested investors.
The proposal is pending approval by the board of approval (BoA) which handles SEZ proposals and related activities.“The developer has also come up with alternative suggestions for establishing continuity,” the official told The Economic Times.
The Navi Mumbai was approved in 2007 with the requirement that all five vehicular underpasses and three road over-bridges must be built for contiguity before units are established in the zone. Navi Mumbai SEZ is also proposing that instead of flyovers they should be allowed to build skywalks.
